Description
We are at the beginning of the fifties and a star is born - Chupa Chups. Enric Bernat, the Spanish inventor of Chupa Chups, thought: What does the world need? The world needs a product that "is like eating a dessert with a fork". And with that, he created his first lollipop in 1958 and solved the problem of parents: their children's perpetually dirty or sticky little hands. A round candy on top of a stick: the simplest idea in the world and the most effective.
Why the name Chupa Chups?
Nowadays Chupa Chups evokes the world of lollipops but did you know that at the time it was called "Gol" because of its spherical shape and Bernat's passion for football? Thanks to the success of the radio jingle ("Chupa un dulce caramelo, chupa chupa chupa un Chups") they were renamed Chupa Chups.
